USA Wrestling crowns the 2004 Ultimate Dominator in the Ultimate Challenge Series and awards nine in

Nate Moore of Durango, Iowa was crowned Ultimate Dominator following the conclusion of USA Wrestling's National Folkstyle Championships in Cedar Falls, IA, April 2-4.    Moore was the Division III champion (ages 13-15) and won the Ultimate Dominator Title with 14,300 points. Behind him was Aidon Isenberg of Gardner, Kansas in second place with 10,700 points, and Grant Gambrall of Iowa City, Iowa in third place with 10,200 points.     In the final and deciding event of the Ultimate Dominator Series for all three divisions, USA Wrestling's National Folkstyle Championships, Moore won the gold medal at the Schoolboy division (ages 13-14) at 95 pounds.     The Dominator Belt winner in Division I (ages 9-10) is Jack Hathaway of Mystic, Iowa with 13,100 points. Behind him in second place is John Sims of Evansville, Indiana with 10,200 points, and Christopher Rau of Deerfield, Mich. in third place with 9,500 points.     In Division II (ages 11-12) the Dominator Belt winner is Dylan Carew of Coralville, Iowa with 12,800 points. In second place is Nate Burbaker of Toledo, Ohio with 10,100 points, and Clark Glass of Brandon, Fla. in third place with 9,600 points.    Out of all of the three champions, Moore had 1,200 more points than his closest competitor, Hathaway, for the Ultimate Dominator Belt.     The top three in each division were also the top three athletes in each division midway through the series. By continuing to compete and excel in the Series events, these talented athletes were able to maintain their positions.     Sims, a Dominator Belt winner last year in 2003 placed second in Division I with 10,200 points.     The Ultimate Challenge Series of Folkstyle Wrestling is a series of seven national folkstyle events for kids between the ages of 9-15.  The series has grown from five events to seven this year with the addition of the Brock Lesnar/Gopher Kids Classic at the University Center in Rochester, Minn. and the 28th annual U.S. Junior Open Championships at the Oklahoma State Fairgrounds Arena in Oklahoma City, Okla.     Other events held in this season's series were the Winter Classic, in Danville, Ill., November 29-30; the 19th Annual Cotton Bowl Classic in Dallas, Texas on December 27; and Liberty Nationals in Kansas City, Mo., February 14.     There are three age divisions in the Ultimate Challenge Series. division I (9-10 year olds), division II (11-12 year olds), and division III (13-15 year olds).  The top three placewinners per division are awarded Dominator Belts with a total of nine belts awarded.  The athlete scoring the most Dominator points was recognized as the "Ulimate Dominator" and received a special award.      Congratulations to the wrestling coaches and leaders in Iowa for developing the highest-scoring athlete in all three age divisions.
