USA Wrestling will host the men's FILA Junior National Championships / FILA World Team Trials April 29 - May 1 in Lincoln Neb. at The Devaney Sports Center on the Nebraska State Fairgrounds. Talented wrestlers between the ages of 17-20 will be featured as they battle it out for National titles and spots on the Junior World Team. Competition will be in the Olympic styles of wrestling: freestyle and Greco-Roman. Registration for both freestyle and Greco-Roman will begin on Thursday, April 29 with competition beginning Friday, April 30. Greco-Roman preliminaries will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, April 30, with preliminaries through finals beginning at 2:00 p.m. Freestyle preliminaries will begin on Saturday, May 1 at 9:00 a.m. and finals will begin at 6:00 p.m. Champions in each weight class will qualify for a partially subsidized international tour for both freestyle and Greco-Roman. The qualifier is determined by placement in each style and each weight class. In years past, champions have qualified for the FILA Junior World Championships. However, this year there will be no FILA Junior World Championships. Tickets will be available at the door.
