USA Wrestling will host a men's and women's Regional Olympic Team Trials Qualifier at the Tuttle North Gym in Brockport, New York, April 16-18, 2004.     Brockport residents can experience all of the excitement of the Olympics for men's and women's freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling right in their own community with out having to travel to Athens Greece.     Many potential Olympians will be participating in these Regional tournaments seeking to qualify for the U.S. Olympic Team Trials - Wrestling in Indianapolis, Ind. May 21-23.     Talented wrestlers from across the nation as well as wrestlers from the state and region will be participating.     Witness history in the making, for the first time in the Olympic Games, women's wrestling will take center stage as the only new addition to the Games.     Champions in each weight class in both Greco-Roman and men's and women's freestyle will qualify for the U.S. Olympic Trials challenge tournament in Indianapolis, May 20-23.      Since these qualifiers are open tournaments, a list of potential wrestlers cannot be complied at this time. Wrestlers may wish to participate in any of the five qualifiers throughout the country.     Men's Senior Greco-Roman preliminaries and finals will begin at 9:00 a.m. Sunday, April 18 and last through the conclusion of the tournament.     Men's and women's senior freestyle preliminaries will begin at 9:00 a.m., Saturday April 17, and will last through 1:00 p.m., continuing at 2:00 p.m. till 4:00 p.m. Finals, Medals and Awards will begin at 4:00 p.m. and last through 6:00 p.m.     Along with the men's and women's senior qualifiers will be the Northeast Junior Regional Championships and Cadet Festival at the Tuttle North Gym in Brockport, New York, April 16-18, 2004.     "What better opportunity to see local heroes of this sport vying for a spot on the U.S. Olympic Team on the same mats as the young athletes that look up to them," said Event Director Don Murray.     Junior Regional Championships will begin with freestyle preliminaries on Friday, April 16th at 5:00 p.m., and continue on Saturday, April 17th at 9:00 a.m. and continue at 2:00 p.m. Medals, finals and awards will begin at 4:00 p.m. Junior Greco-Roman preliminaries will begin on Saturday, April 17th at 8:00 p.m. and continue on Sunday through the finals at 9:00 a.m.    Cadet preliminaries will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 17th    Additional men's regionals took place in the following cities: St. Joseph, Minn. (March 12-14), Laramie, Wyo. (March 25-27), Battle Ground, Wash. (March 27-28), and will be taking place in Kenner, La. (April 22-24)     Women's freestyle regionals will took place in: Battle Ground, Wash. (March 25-27), and will be taking place Kenner, La. (April 22-24).
