The popular Junior Regional Series of events begins March 25th in Laramie, Wyo. The eight Junior Regionals, for high school wrestlers, are in the Central, Northeast, Northwest, Northern Plains, Rocky Mountain, Southeast, Southern, and Western regions. Competition is in the Olympic styles of wrestling - freestyle and Greco-Roman. These Regionals have traditionally featured strong competition, where wrestlers may test their skills and improve their performance while competing against wrestlers from across the country. The top three place winners qualify for their state's Junior National team for ASIC Junior Nationals to be held in Fargo, N.D., July 24-31. "USA Wrestling is looking forward to another competitive Junior Regional season. The top three wrestlers in each weight class qualify for their respective state's Junior National team. Therefore states and athletes have placed an increased emphasis on qualifying athletes at the Junior Regional events. This increased emphasis continues to increase the level of competitiveness at every Junior Regional," said Pete Isais, USA Wrestling's Director of National Events.
