USA Wrestling has  mailed a valuable new benefit to its 2004 member clubs, the USA Wrestling Club Builder DVD.    This complimentary DVD is being sent to the 2,000 member clubs that have already signed up with USA Wrestling. This special benefit will also be mailed to any new clubs that join the organization by the end of the fiscal year (August 31).    Included are three interactive video presentations designed to help local clubs recruit more athletes and to help coaches and athletes to improve their performance.    One segment includes Drills and Skills, a sampling of USA Wrestling's popular Official Coaches Syllabus, 3rd edition. Using cutting edge technology, the DVD provides a great learning tool for coaches and athletes. There are 22 different drills and skills,taught by USA Wrestling National Freestyle Coach Kevin Jackson and USA Wrestling National Greco-Roman Coach Steve Fraser. Both coaches are past Olympic champions, and are experts at the instruction of wrestling techniques.    The DVD lets users play the video in slow motion, pause the action, or move frame by frame through the skills. You can navigate every skill, read its coaching points and watch national-level athletes correctly perform each technique. Each of the techniques are shown from three different camera angles.    Another segment is the "Club Builder Video," a fast-moving segment that is inspiring to watch and can be used to excite athletes and their families about wrestling. Action footage is combined with music and narration to show the excitement of the sport. Clips of Olympic caliber athletes in action are mixed in with top youth competition on the Kids, Cadet and Junior levels.     Olympic champion wrestlers such as John Smith and Tom Brands, and famous former wrestlers, including actor Billy Baldwin and Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, tell why wrestling is an important part of their lives. This segment can be shown to large groups of people to educate them about wrestling and inspire them to get more involved in the sport.    A third segment is a question-and-answer video with USA Wrestling National Coaches Kevin Jackson, Steve Fraser and Terry Steiner, as well as USA Wrestling Executive Director Rich Bender.    Each of these wrestling leaders give their vision for the sport, and share their experience and perspective about wrestling. Ideas on how to build and expand the sport are included in the dialogue from these wrestling experts.    This valuable DVD is not available to the general public, and by itself is worth the price of a club charter. This is USA Wrestling's way of thanking its grassroots club leaders for being a part of the organization. It is also a powerful incentive for wrestling enthusiasts to develop new clubs in their community.    USA Wrestling club leaders should receive their own Club Builder DVD in the mail during the next few weeks.
