Illinois chapter of National Wrestling Hall of Fame to honor award winners on April 4

Stillwater, OK - The National Wrestling Hall of Fame has announced the 2004 Class of Illinois coaches, officials and contributors to be recognized with a "Lifetime Service to Wrestling Award". This award is given annually to coaches, officials or contributors who have given a lifetime of service to wrestling, their communities and most importantly to the young people they have coached, taught, motivated and inspired. The state "Medal of Courage" will be also be presented. The honorees are: "Lifetime Service to Wrestling" Terry Stanton Joseph Pedersen George Dyche Gene Swierzewski James Craig The late Robert Emmons "Medal of Courage" Larry W. Bernard For their dedication and lasting influence on wrestling, the National Wrestling Hall of Fame and Museum, Stillwater, Oklahoma, will present the "Lifetime Service to Wrestling", and the "Medal of Courage" Awards. These men and their families will be honored at the "Hall of Fame" celebration banquet April 4, 2004. Banquet and induction ceremonies will be held at the Alpine Banquet Hall in Darien, Illinois.
