CBC Sports Saturday will be covering the Zoltan Hunyady (Guelph W.C., Fergus, Ontario) and Daniel Igali (Burnaby Mountain W.C., Surrey, B.C.) Olympic Team wrestle-off LIVE this Saturday, March 6th. The wrestle-off will occur during the 2004 Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS) National Championships finals at Brock University in St. Catherine's, Ontario. The wrestle-off was awarded as 2000 Sydney Olympic Gold Medalist, Daniel Igali, was unable to participate in the Canadian Wrestling Olympic Trials held December 11-14 in Sherwood Park, Alberta, due to an injury. His international performance standard qualified him for an injury petition that was awarded by Wrestling Canada Lutte in advance of the trials. His opponent will be the winner of the Olympic Trials, Zoltan Hunyady. The format is a best of three match wrestle-off but Hunyady will be given a 1-0 lead due to his performance at the Olympic Trials. Igali must defeat Hunyady twice in order to qualify for the Athens Olympic Games. Canada has already qualified the 74 kilogram weight division due to Igali's 4th place performance at the first qualifying event in Bratislava, Czech Republic this past February. The times for the wrestle-off are as follows: Match One - 3:30 PM (EST) Match Two - 5:00 PM (EST) if required CBC Sport Saturday will actually host their March 6th Saturday telecast from Brock University with host Scott Russell being in attendance from 2:00 until 6:00 PM..
