BOISE, Idaho  - Luke Crockett, a member of the Boise State University wrestling team, is in fair condition at a Portland, Oregon, hospital after being seriously injured in an accident on December 22, 2000.    A freshman and Boise State's starting wrestler at 165 pounds, Crockett is at Legacy Emanuel Hospital in Portland, after having his right leg amputated below the knee on January 2, 2001 as a result of an open leg fracture with vascular complications.  Luke was initially treated for ascending aorta rupture, which has been surgically repaired, multiple facial lacerations, a left leg fracture as well as the right leg fracture.  He is expected to go home within a week.    Crockett was hit by a car north of Battle Ground, Washington, late on December 22.     Prior to the accident, Crockett had posted an individual record of 9-6 this wrestling season.  He red-shirted last season (1999-2000) at Boise State following an outstanding prep career at Battle Ground High School.  As a senior he was undefeated with a 40-0 record and won his second consecutive Washington State championship.    Crockett and his family wish to extend their thanks to the Boise community for the tremendous outpouring of support given to Luke since being admitted to the hospital early December 23, 2000.
