GMU's Becker CAA Wrestler of Week Hofstra's Strouse CAA Rookie of Week LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. - Rob Becker of George Mason University has been named the Colonial Athletic Association Wrestler of the Week, and James Strouse of Hofstra University has been named the CAA Rookie of the Week, for all competition February 10-16. Becker, a senior 141 from Mickleton, NJ (Clearview Regional), came back from a bout with the flu to win by fall (3:54) in his only match of the week, a CAA pin in a victory over James Madison. Currently ranked ninth in the nation by Amateur Wrestling News and 10th by InterMat, Becker remains undefeated in the CAA (4-0) and in duals (5-0) while improving to 22-5 overall as the top ranked 141 in the CAA. Strouse, a freshman from Levittown, NY (MacArthur), went 3-0 last week, including a pair of CAA decisions. Currently ranked fifth in the CAA among 149 pounders, Strouse defeated the fourth ranked 149 from Drexel, won by fall in a victory over Wagner, and won a major decision in Hofstra's victory over Penn. Strouse improved to 19-9 overall, 6-1 in the CAA.
