TEMPE, Ariz. - Tickets to the 2004 Pac-10 Conference Wrestling Championships are now available for purchase at the Sun Devil Ticket Office for the 41st annual event that will be hosted by Arizona State Feb. 29-March 1. The action will be contested in four sessions inside Wells Fargo Arena, leading up to the crowning of 10 individual and one team champion Monday evening. Tickets are $30 for adults and $18 for juniors/seniors for the all session passes while single-session passes can be purchased for $10 for adults and $5 for juniors/seniors. Tickets can be purchased by contacting the Sun Devil Ticket Office at (480) 965-2381 or at the doors to the arena one hour prior to the start of each session. Session 1 runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday and will hold four rounds of action. Included in the first session will be bouts in the championship pigtails, consolation pigtails, championship first round and championship quarterfinals. Session 2 follows from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. with the championship semifinals being contested, as well as the consolation preliminaries and consolation quarterfinals. The final day of action starts with Session 3 (11 a.m. to 4 p.m.) and will feature the consolation semifinal bouts, as well as matches to determine third and fifth place in each weight class. Session 4 opens at 5:30 p.m. with the Parade of Champions while the championship finals (first place) will be contested beginning at 6 p.m. Arizona State, winners of 14 Pac-10 wrestling crowns in 25 years, will look to the defend its 2003 title won in Boise, Idaho, a year ago. The Sun Devils have won the second most conference wrestling titles in Pac-10 history, trailing only Oregon State which has won 16. ASU and OSU will be joined in the event by Boise State, Cal Poly, UC Davis, Cal State Bakersfield, Cal State Fullerton, Oregon, Portland State and Stanford. Individually, the Top 4 wrestlers at each weight class will advance to the NCAA Wrestling Championships, slated for March 18-20 inside the Savvis Center in St. Louis, Mo.
