RULON GARDNER - 2000 OLYMPIC GOLD MEDALIST "Success Comes From the Heart" Rulon Gardner, 2000 Greco-Roman Olympic Gold Medalist, will make an appearance at the ISWA Annual Coaches Technique Clinic at 1:00 pm on Sunday, January 25th at Ben Davis High School. He will be sharing personal experiences in his life that motivated him. All are welcomed to attend! Gardner, at 6'2" and 285 pounds, credits his success at the 2000 Olympics to hard work, keeping in shape, determination, and his faith in God. Before facing Karelin in the Greco-Roman 130kg/286 lbs, gold medal match, he felt "a certain calm." He knew what he had to do to win: "Stay in good position, and work hard to get him tired!" The match went into overtime, with Gardner in the lead at 1-0. Rulon was able to hold his ground to the end, snatching the Gold and the championship from Karelin's grasp for the first time in 13 years. Don't miss out on this excellent opportunity to meet and be motivated by a true CHAMPION! Reggie Wright and Eric Reed will follow with an Athletes & Coaches Clinic from 2:00 to 4:00 pm. Both Clinics are Sponsored by the Indiana State Wrestling Association and are free of charge to all ISWA Wrestlers & Coaches. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________ January 25, 2004 Ben Davis High School Indianapolis, Indiana 9:00 AM Clinics Folkstyle Referee Clinic Folkstyle Pairing Clinic Copper Coaches Clinic 1:00 PM Clinics Basic Pairings Clinic Advance Pairing Clinic Freestyle/Greco Mat Officials Clinic Special Appearance Rulon Gardner Olympic Champion 1:00 PM Coach's & Wrestler's Clinics Reggie Wright, Assistant Wrestling Coach IU.
