KENT, Ohio - Kent State University redshirt freshman wrestler Aaron Miller (Uniopolis, Ohio/Wapokoneta) was the surprise of the Beast of the East Classic in Newark Del., last week, advancing to the finals of the 165-pound weight class. His performance earned Miller Mid-American Conference (MAC) Wrestler of the Week honors for the week ending Dec. 21. Miller finished second in his weight class, winning four straight matches before defaulting in the final to top-seeded Zach Doll from the University of Pittsburgh. Coming into the Beast of the East, Miller was 5-5 in dual meets, but with the victories in the tournament now stands at 9-6 on the year. Miller opened the tournament with a technical fall against Marco Hall of the University of Delaware (16-0), then posted decisions against Sean Early of George Mason University (8-4), Keith Smith of East Stroudsburg University (7-2) and second-seeded Michael Mitchell from Duke University (6-5).
