National team star Dean Morrison to give free clinic in southern California, Friday, Nov. 21

Dean Morrison (Colorado Springs, Colo./New York AC), a member of the U.S. national freestyle team, will provide a free clinic to all interested wrestlers in Fullerton, Calif. on Friday, Nov. 21. The clinic will be held at Sunny Hills High School from 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. The address is 1801 Warburton Way in Fullerton, and the clinic will be in the cafeteria located next to the baseball field. The clinic is sponsored by the Orange County Wrestling Club, a USA Wrestling chartered club. The clinic is open to all wrestlers, not just USA Wrestling members. Morrison currently has a No. 2 national ranking in freestyle at 96 kg/211.5 lbs. Morrison won a gold medal at the 2003 World Team Trials, then was beaten in a Special Wrestle-off for the U.S. World Team by Daniel Cormier (Stillwater, Okla./Gator WC). Morrison previously qualified for Freestyle Team USA in 1997, when he placed third at the World Team Trials at 187.25 pounds. His second place at the U.S. Nationals this year was his best career finish. Morrison was a 1994 NCAA champion for the Univ. of West Virginia. He attended Copaigue High School in New York.
