For Terry Brands the message is simple. "Wrestlers compete. To be the best, a wrestler has to take the challenge and get on the mat whenever he can, " said Brands, a two-time World champion. So when Terry Brands heard about the 3 Way Wrestling Championships being held in Cincinnati, Ohio May 29-31st of 2004, he was more than happy to endorse this USA Wrestling sanctioned event. Brands, who now resides in Chattanooga, Tennessee and is beginning his second season as the Head Coach for the UTC Mocs, supports the three-style concept. The tournament gives entrants the opportunity to wrestle Freestyle on Saturday, Greco on Sunday and Folkstyle on Monday. "Wrestlers will gain valuable experience by wrestling in this tournament in a great wrestling state like Ohio," said Brands. "Young wrestlers have a great opportunity to compete and find out who the total wrestler is." Brands was a standout in high school and college in the scholastic style, and he also went on to become a two-time World Champion in freestyle. Even though, he didn't compete internationally in Greco-Roman wrestling, he still holds a tremendous respect for Greco wrestlers including his long-time friend and fellow World Champion Dennis Hall. "Greco wrestlers are true warriors. They'll stand toe to toe with anybody," cited Brands. Brands can often be seen at Senior-level tournaments coaching Hall, who still is chasing his Olympic Dream by training for the upcoming senior season. According to Brands, "2004 is going to be a great year for wrestling for the United States. The U.S. Olympic Team Trials - Wrestling in Indianapolis will be great and then just a week later younger athletes will get to show their stuff in Cincinnati's tournament." The Cincinnati Nationals inaugural 3-Way Wrestling Championships will be held over Memorial Day Weekend (May 29th-31st) 2004 at the US Bank Arena in Cincinnati, Ohio.
