On Saturday September 13, after the quarterfinal round of action of the 2003 World Championships of Freestyle Wrestling, a celebrity packed awards dinner titled "An Evening with Legends" took place.  The venerable New York Athletic Club Ballroom was the location for this historic celebration.    The banquet honored America's past World and Olympic Champions, as well as Lifetime Achievement Awards for seven individuals with wrestling backgrounds whose life endeavors have made an impact on the world.    USA Wrestling utilized several photographers to capture images from an event that was arguably the most significant "off the mat" event USA Wrestling has ever staged.    Over 30 World and/or Olympic Champions were in attendance. For example, amongst these images is a group photo of six of America's greatest big men…Bruce Baumgartner, Jeff Blatnick, Dremiel Byers, Matt Ghaffari, Rulon Gardner and Stephen Neal.    Those presented with Lifetime Achievement Awards included: Nobel Peace Prize winner Norman Borlaug, Chief Economic Advisor to the White House Steve Friedman, Speaker of the House Dennis Hastert, Academy Award Winner John Irving, Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld, and Chairman of the Samsung Corporation Korea's Kun Hee Lee.    In addition, John and Helen Vaughan were presented a Special Award by USA Wrestling for their dedicated to support for the sport.
