Considine named USA Wrestling State Chairperson of the Year

 Jim Considine of Carol Stream, Ill. was elected USA Wrestling State Chairperson of the Year. USA Wrestling is the National Governing Body for amateur wrestling in the United States.    He was selected for this honor by his peer State Chairpersons during the USA Wrestling State Leaders Conference held in Colorado Springs, Colo., Aug. 6-9.    Considine has served as USA Wrestling State Chairperson in Illinois since 1999. Illinois has over 10,000 USA Wrestling members, second only to California in the number of registered members for the organization. The Illinois association has the largest Kids wrestling organization within USA Wrestling.    He has served as the President of the Illinois Kids Wrestling Association (IKWF) since 1993, and has been on the IKWF Board since 1985. He has run an IKWF kids club, the Villa-Lombard Cougars, since 1983.    Considine is an assistant wrestling coach at Glenbard North High School, one of the most successful high school wrestling programs in the nation. Two of his sons, Augie and Andy, competed at Glenbard North. Considine was a wrestler at Willowbrook High School in Villa Park, Ill.    He gives special credit to his wife Alicia for all of her efforts on behalf of the USA Wrestling state association and the youth club, as well as support for his wrestling activities.    "I am surprised and honored to win this," said Considine. "It is an award won by the state organization. I have a great Board, and that is why Illinois wrestling is doing so well."    Considine has worked for 29 years in marketing for Motorola.
