Molin named USA Wrestling Official of the Year

Douglas Molin of Martinsville, Ind. has been named Official of the Year by the U.S. Wrestling Officials Association, which is affiliated with USA Wrestling.    Molin is a talented mat official, holding a FILA-1 international rank and a USA-Exceptionelle rank in the United States. He has been an official for 12 years.    Among the international events he has worked are the University World Championships, the Titan Games and the Dave Schultz Memorial International. He has also officiated at all of the major national USA Wrestling events, as well as competitions on the state and regional levels. He has worked the ASICS Junior/Cadet Nationals many times, as well as the Cadet and Junior National Duals.    Molin was one of the referees selected to work the recent RealPro Wrestling competition in California.    He was a coach in high school for four years in California during the 1980s. He has eight children, all who have been involved in wrestling, including four sons who were competitive wrestlers. He competed for the U.S. Marines Corps wrestling team, and then in college for the Univ. of Indiana. He is a past president of the Martinsville Wrestling Club.    He works as the Manager for Technical Operations for Air Traffic Operations in the Central United States, which includes 15 states.
