19 wrestlers still in the hunt for Triple Crowns at the Greco-Roman Kids National Championships

After the first day of competition at the Greco-Roman Kids National Championships in Enid, Okla., 19 wrestlers are still in the hunt for the coveted Triple Crown of wrestling. To win a triple crown in wrestling, a competitor must win the Kids Folkstyle National Championships which took place in April, as well as win the Kids National Championships in both Greco-Roman and freestyle competition. In the Midget division, Mark Grey (New Jersey), Shane Thomas (Oklahoma) and John Sims (Indiana) have all dominated early pool action and are looking to win the second leg of the triple crown. Nine wrestlers still have the opportunity to win the Triple Crown in the Novice division. They are: Sharky Slyter (Kansas), Ben Morgan (Oklahoma), Anthony Ramos (Illinois), Trey Adamson (New Mexico), Derek Garcia (Washington), Jeff Olsen (Georgia), Mark Myers (Indiana), Sterling Hecox (Illinois) and Matthew Klingsport (Kansas). Morgan and Ramos are competing in the same weight class. In Schoolboy/Schoolgirl action, Fred Santaite (New Jersey), Matt Bryan (Oklahoma), Riley Adamson (New Mexico), Quentin Wright (Pennsylvania), Shane Nay (Missouri) and Deron Winn (Missouri) are each heading towards the Greco-Roman title as well. Schoolboy Matthew Campos (California) is the only wrestler registered in his weight class, giving him his second title in the triple crown race. 384 wrestlers registered for this year's Greco-Roman division.
