There are still opportunities for high school-age individuals and teams to participate in the World Sports Alliance International Team Camp at the University of Dubuque, June 19-22. Athletes are expected to recieve more than 15 matches each. Teams and individual athletes from the United States that have confirmed their participation so far include representatives from Iowa, Illinois, Missouri, Kansas, Georgia, Ohio and Wisconsin. Two Polish teams, a Turkish Team and a half team from Albania are also confirmed. Complete teams and individuals without a team can still walk-up and register for the exciting weekend of wrestling action. Registration is on Thursday, June 19 from 5-7 p.m. at the Stoltz Athletic Center at the University of Dubuque in Dubuque, Iowa. Individuals without a team will be placed on a team. Teams will wrestle using folkstyle rules when both teams are American and freestyle rules when a foreign team is involved. The team camp will also feature daily technique sessions conducted by former National Team Athletes. The cost to participate is only $175 per athlete for a 4 day/3 night resident camp with full board. "We realize that most team camps are more than $300 to attend but we really wanted to keep this affordable," said University of Dubuque Head Coach and Camp Co-Director Jon McGovern. The city of Dubuque, Iowa borders both Wisconsin and Illinois and is in the heart of wrestling country. It is not a far drive from either Chicago or Madison. The competition will be held in Stoltz Athletic Center at the University of Dubuque. "We felt we needed to make more international wrestling opportunities available here in the United States," said Wade Genova, President of World Sports Alliance.
