Patricia L. Abbott, 40, of Colorado Springs and formerly of Tucson, Ariz. passed away on Friday, May 30, 2003 at a local hospital. Patricia was a USA Wrestling employee in 1988 and 1989. She was the wife of Gary Abbott, USA Wrestling Director of Special Projects, who she met while working at USA Wrestling. They were married on March 25, 1989. She was a devoted wife, mother, daughter and sister who enjoyed sports, reading and especially loved animals. Patricia Lee Hodge was born on July 12, 1962 in Tucson, Ariz. to Virgil and Mary Ann (Cecil) Hodge who survive and currently live in Tucson. She served in the Air Force from 1981-83. Patricia is survived by her loving husband, Gary, her son Airman First Class Justin Hoover, USAF of Vandenburg AFB, California; and her daughter PFC Eva Hodge, USA, stationed in Germany (and currently serving in Iraq); two sisters: Theresa Hodge of Tucson and Elizabeth Jett of Inman, South Carolina. Memorial Services will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 4, 2003 at the Wilson United Methodist Church, 6460 Flying W Ranch Road, Colorado Springs. Cremation in planned. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Pat's memory to Nine Lives Rescue, PO Box 75183, Colorado Springs, CO 80970, or the Patricia Abbott Memorial for the Women's Olympic Wrestling Team, USA Wrestling, 6155 Lehman Dr., Colorado Springs, CO 80918.
