* ASICS, Cliff Keen, and Resilite Present the 2003 NWCA Convention    * Gable, Robinson, and Chertow are the featured presenters    (Manheim, PA) The National Wrestling Coaches Association is pleased to announce the 2003 NWCA Convention will be held September 10-11 at the New York Athletic Club in New York City.  The NWCA convention, which is presented by ASICS, Cliff Keen and Resilite will precede the 2003 World Championships at Madison Square Garden.    The convention offers coaches of all levels and other wrestling leaders an opportunity to develop proficiencies in a variety of areas while networking with their peers.    The convention offers technique clinics, workshops, coaching education programs and numerous social activities.    Among the special activities at this year's event are:    *        Featured seminars by J Robinson, Dan Gable and Ken Chertow  *        Buffet lunch at the New York Athletic Club  *        Discounted tickets for the World Championships  *        Nutrition and Leadership Seminars with world-renowned speakers  *        Special presentations for both scholastic and collegiate coaches  *        Exhibitors social at the NYAC    This years featured presenters include University of Minnesota Head Coach, J Robinson, legendary coach Dan Gable and Olympian Ken Chertow.    Coach Robinson, who guided the University of Minnesota Gophers to two NCAA team titles, will present topics on recruiting and successful marketing and promotions of a wrestling program.  Robinson is widely considered a leader in the successful marketing of wrestling.    Coach Gable, who is currently serving at the US Resident Coach, will be doing a special technique session on Thursday evening that will be open to the public.  Gable is considered one of the nation's top athletes and coaches.   He was the 1972 Olympic Gold Medalist.    Coach Chertow will be presenting a technique session that will include unique drills and essential skills for all levels.  Chertow was a 1988 Olympian and three-time All-American for Penn State University.  He currently is the founder and director of The Gold Medal Training Camp System, which is one of the most successful camps in the nation.    Robinson, Gable, and Chertow are all members of the ASICS Tiger Advisory Board.    A trade show will also be hosted, featuring the latest products and services within the wrestling community.    Sponsors for the convention include ASICS, Resilite Sports Products, Inc. and Cliff Keen Athletics along with associate sponsor Kennedy Industries. These companies have supported the convention in the past, and are leaders within the sport of wrestling.    Space for the convention is limited so coaches are encouraged to register by June 30 to secure a spot.  The cost for the convention is a $150, which includes a commemorative gift, ticket to the Dan Gable technique clinic, buffet lunch and exhibitors social on Thursday evening. Additional tickets can be purchased for all the included activities.    The NWCA has reserved a block of rooms at the New York Athletic Club at a rate of $170.00  per night plus tax.  You must be attending the NWCA Convention to receive this rate and the hotel will honor these rates throughout the World Championships.  Deadline to reserve rooms is June 30.    In addition, the NWCA is offering discounted reserved tickets to the World Championships for convention attendees.  Discounts are available on gold ticket packages, lower level seating and club level seating.  You will be able to order tickets as you make your convention reservations.
