To the Coaches of Florida: As a an athlete growing up in the state of Florida I was fortunate to have many positive experiences centered around athletics. Last year for the second year in a row I finished the season ranked number one in the 66 kg weight class. The success that I have been able to achieve as a wrestler is in many ways the direct result of the coaching that I received as a youth. When I graduated from Bolles High School in Jacksonville, I ended my high school athletic career with three individual state championships in wrestling and All-State Honors in football. I know that this success was learned through the result of great coaching. This summer, USA Wrestling's Florida association has scheduled a Silver Level Coaches College as a part of the Team Florida training camp. The National Coaches Education Program for wrestling coaches will definitely help improve your understanding and skills in coaching wrestling. To host the Silver College we need to have a great turnout of Florida's wrestling coaches. I hope you will take the time today to fill out the Silver College application and mail it in. As coaches for the sport of wrestling, I want you to be involved in this great week dedicated to the sport of wrestling. There are many athletes in Florida that are looking to their coaches to provide leadership for them. The actions that you take to better yourself in the sport of wrestling do make a difference. I'll see you in July at Florida's Silver Level Coaches College. Sincerely Chris Bono, Team Florida Silver Level Coaches College In July of 2003, Team Florida will offer a Silver Level Coaches College to members of USA Wrestling. Working as a part of the growing FAWA organization, coaches will gain insight into elite training and technique. Also, the coaches will participate in classroom sessions that will focus on mental skills, nutrition, program development, and weight training. Join Team Florida this summer as FAWA brings an exciting Silver Level College to the Tampa area. The cost of the course is $425 for single occupancy or $400 for double occupancy.
