The National Wrestling Hall of Fame State Chapter of Connecticut recently had its first banquet. Those honored were Brian Crudden, Carl Snitkin, John Vino, Art Powers and Brian Manzi for their "Lifetime Service to Wrestling.".Governor John G. Rowland was honored with the "Outstanding American from the state of Connecticut Award." The Connecticut Chapter board, under the leadership of Michael Quibble, broke all attendance records for their banquet. On Sunday March 9th, 550 wrestling coaches, friends and family attended the honors banquet in Connecticut. The National Wrestling Hall of Fame is looking forward to April 26th, when Minnesota will have its first banquet. The Minnesota Chapter, under the leadership of Spencer Yohe, will honor the following individuals with the Lifetime Service Award: Donald Dravis, Rummy Macias, Ronald Malcolm, Roy Minter and Donald Meyers. Verne Gagne will receive the "Outstanding American from the state of Minnesota Award," All those who plan on attending the Hall of Fame State Chapter luncheon on Friday, March 21, during NCAA Div. I Wrestling Championships, need to RSVP this week to Mike Clair.
