Morgantown, W.Va. West Virginia University wrestling coach Craig Turnbull announced today the signing of Rayland, Ohio, native Nathan Kendjorsky for the 2001-02 season. Kendjorsky, a senior at Buckeye Local High School in Rayland, Ohio, is a three-time Ohio State champion and is the reigning junior national freestyle champion at 117 pounds. Kendjorsky owns a 100-30 career record entering his senior season this year. He has already set the school's seasonal records for wins (46), falls (29) and points (279.5). As a freshman, he was fifth at the Cadet Nationals and sixth at the junior nationals as a sophomore. "Nathan represents the character and work ethic of what we strive to achieve in our program," Turnbull said. "He's a self-starter and is very consistent with our freshman class that we signed last year. He will definitely be an asset as a Mountaineer." Kendjorsky is projected to wrestle at 125 pounds for West Virginia.
