Icy road conditions in the Northeast, East Coast and Midwest regions of the U.S. has postponed and cancelled at least three NCAA dual meets set for Sunday, Feb. 16. The winter storm postponed duals between Indiana and Illinois in Champaign, Ill., Edinboro and Virginia Tech at Grundy High School in Grundy, Va. and Drexel and Hofstra in Hempstead, N.Y. All three postponements or cancellations have cited inclement weather and dangerous road conditions as the causes. Indiana vs. Illinois will not be made up, while no final decision has been made as to the status of the other two dual meets. Radar showed snow falling Sunday from Missouri to New Jersey, with flakes coming down at a rate of up to 4 inches an hour in parts of Maryland. Forecasts ranged from a foot of snow by late Monday in Rhode Island and Massachusetts to 20 inches in New Jersey and 2 feet in Maryland and northern Virginia. TheMat.com will keep you informed of any other updates regarding postponements or cancellations.
