Three Penn wrestlers who had big wins over ranked wrestlers share EIWA Wrestler of the Week honors this week. Doug McGraw, Jody Giuricich and Matt Feast led the Quaker charge which enabled Penn to upset Penn State, ranked 13th in the nation by the NWCA, 22-14. The unranked McGraw, who spent much of the last two seasons on the injury list, upset Scott Moore 7-3 at 141 to give Penn a 6-2 lead (Penn State was penalised a team point after the match for unsportsmanlike conduct). McGraw is now 16-6 on the season. Then Giuricich, who has been hovering just inside the Top 20 all season, pinned Nate Galloway at 149 to extend the lead to 12-2, and the upset was under way for good. Giuricich now sports a record of 24-4 with seven pins. At heavyweight, Feast, just needing to stay off his back to secure the win, upset Pat Cummins, a consensus Top 10 wrestler, 3-2, and improved his record to 18-3.
