Utah Valley State College (UVSC), located in Orem, Utah, is now accepting nominations and applications for the position of head wrestling coach. Both can be done online at www.uvsc.edu/athletics, the athletics home page for UVSC.    The deadline for applications is Jan. 24, 2003.    In October, UVSC announced the addition a wrestling program to their athletics department. The program will begin competition in the 2003-04 season and will compete at the NCAA Division I level.    UVSC is the first college to petition a move from the junior college level to NCAA Division I status. Beginning with the 2002-03 calendar year, the school will be considered as a Division I institution. Due to NCAA sanctions, athletic teams at UVSC will not be allowed to compete in Division I championship events for seven years. The wrestling team will be unable to compete in championship events for six years.
