Team Score  Oklahoma State: 24  Iowa: 15    Results By Weight  157: Shane Roller (OSU) dec. Joe Johnston (Iowa), 10-8  First Period:  Roller scored immediately off an ankle-pick that he turned into a single-leg for a 2-0 lead. After an escape, Johnston became aggressive, getting deep on a single-leg and double-leg, but both times the competitors went off the mat. The two got in another scramble later in the period when Roller got deep on a single-leg, but was unable to finish again. With 10 seconds remaining, Roller finished a takedown after a scramble to take a 4-1 lead into the second period.    Second Period:  Roller chose bottom and earned an escape for a 5-1 lead. Roller extended his lead to 7-1 after coming out on top of a scramble situation. Roller had one minute of riding time at the end of the period.    Third Period:  Johnston chose neutral. 30 seconds into the period, Johnston finally was able to finish a takedown, scoring on a low double-leg, to cut the lead to 7-3. After a Roller escape, Johnston was awarded one point for Roller stalling to cut the lead to 8-4. Johnston scored again on a low double-leg to cut the lead to 8-6. With 14 seconds remaining, Johnston drove Roller to the mat with a double-leg to cut the lead to 9-8. Johnston let Roller go but was unable to score again.    165: Tyrone Lewis (OSU) maj. dec. Matt Anderson (Iowa), 13-1  First Period:  Right off the whistle, Lewis took Anderson to his back with an inside trip and held him there for 30 seconds to take a quick 5-0 lead. Anderson began to limp, showing pain in his right knee. Lewis racked up nearly three minutes of riding time in the period.    Second Period:  Lewis chose bottom and earned an escape to extend his lead to 6-0. 38 seconds into the period, Lewis used an ankle-pick to score another takedown at the edge of the mat. Lewis scored another takedown with 25 seconds left in the period to take a 10-1 lead.    Third Period:  Anderson chose neutral in the period, but with five seconds left in the match, Lewis finished an ankle pick to clinch a major decision.    174: Chris Pendleton (OSU) dec. Tyler Nixt (Iowa), 5-3  First Period:  A scoreless period saw two good scrambles with no points scored.    Second Period:  Pendleton chose bottom and quickly earned an escape to take a 1-0 lead. After sprawling from a Nixt shot, Pendleton re-shot a double-leg and finished for a 3-0 lead. Nixt earned an escape to cut the lead to 3-1.    Third Period:  Nixt chose bottom and earned another escape to cut the lead to 3-2. Nixt shot a single-leg, and after a scramble and a Nixt crotchlift, Pendleton came out on top for a 5-2 lead. Nixt was unable to finish a shot at the end of the match.    184: Jessman Smith (Iowa) dec. Jake Rosholt (OSU), 8-3  First Period:  Smith countered a Rosholt shot and scored on the edge of the mat for a 2-0 lead early in the period.    Second Period:  Smith chose bottom and quickly earned an escape to extend his lead to 3-1. Midway through the period, Smith turned a high-crotch into a double-leg and finished for a 5-1 lead. Rosholt earned an escape to cut the lead to 5-2, but Smith finished a low double-leg at the edge of the mat with three seconds left in the period for a 7-2 lead.    Third Period:  Rosholt chose bottom and earned an escape to cut the lead to 7-3, but Smith also had 1:07 riding time.    197: Muhammed Lawal (OSU) maj. dec. Ryan Fulsaas (Iowa), 19-8  First Period:  Lawal scored on two double-leg takedowns for a quick 4-1 lead. Lawal released Fulsaas again and then scored again, this time on an ankle-pick, for a 6-2 lead. Lawal was able to score one more takedown with 12 seconds left to extend his lead to 8-3 with 1:02 riding time. Fulsaas added another escape to cut the lead to 8-4.    Second Period:  Fulsaas chose bottom and earned another escape, but wth nine seconds left in the period, Lawal finished an ankle pick for a 10-5 lead. Fulsaas added another escape to cut the lead to 10-6.    Third Period:  Lawal chose bottom and Fulsaas let him go. Lawal then countered a Fulsaas single-leg and scored on a double-leg for a 13-6 lead. Lawal added two more takedowns before the match was through.    285: Steve Mocco (Iowa) pin Willie Gruenwald (OSU), 0:50  First Period:  Mocco used a foot sweep to score a takedown. He worked an arm bar and turned Gruenwald, eventually flattening him out for the pin.    125: Luke Eustice (Iowa) dec. Skyler Holman (OSU), 2-0  First Period:  One minute into the period, Eustice lifted a single-leg. After walking Holman around the mat for 10 seconds, Holman kept his balance and slid away.    Second Period:  Eustice chose bottom and earned an escape 45 seconds into the period for a 1-0 lead.    Third Period:  Holman chose bottom but Eustice rode him out for the entire period, earning one riding time point in the process.    133: Cliff Moore (Iowa) dec. Johnny Thompson (OSU), 8-4 ot  First Period:  Thompson scored 20 seconds into the period on a low double-leg. Moore earned an escape to cut the lead to 2-1.    Second Period:  Moore chose bottom and quickly earned an escape. Moore then got deep on a single-leg and finished for a 4-2 lead. Thompson earned an escape to cut the lead to 4-3.    Third Period:  Thompson chose bottom and earned an escape immediately to tie the match at 4-4.    Overtime:  Moore lifted a double-leg and fought for position, finishing the takedown with 25 seconds left in the extra session. Moore also scored two back points.    141: Zack Esposito (OSU) pin Luke Moffitt (Iowa), 4:06  First Period:  Esposito used a body lock to throw Moffitt right after the whistle, scoring two back points in the process for a 4-0 lead. After a Moffitt escape, Esposito got deep on a double-leg, but Moffitt used a front headlock to counter and arched off his back to score a takedown on Esposito, cutting hte lead to 4-3. Esposito scored a reversal moments later to extend his lead to 6-3.    Second Period:  Esposito chose bottom and scored a reversal when Moffitt began to ride too high, taking an 8-4 lead. Esposito then began to lock up a cradle but turned it into a front headlock and finished off Moffitt for the pin.    149: Jerrod Sanders (OSU) maj. dec. Chas DeVetter (Iowa), 17-6  First Period:  Sanders scored on a go-behind to take a 2-0 lead. Sanders finished two single-legs to take a 6-2 lead into the second period.    Second Period:  DeVetter chose bottom and earned an escape, but Sanders continued to dominate, scoring three takedowns to take a 12-5 lead with 1:45 riding time.    Third Period:  Sanders chose bottom, earned an escape and added two more takedowns for the major decision win.
