UVA jumped on top early in the match as sophomore Will Durkee defeated VMI's sophomore Mike Parsons (Loudonville, Ohio/ Lakeville), 7-4 in the 165-pound match. VMI took the match over from there winning the final four matches of the night. The quartet began with freshman 133-pounder Micah Amrozowicz's comeback 10-5 win over freshman Ian Derath, pushing the lead to 15-9. Britt's victory capped the night. "I'm very proud of our team, they wrestled hard," said VMI head coach John Trudgeon. "We worked hard during the break and it showed. As for this event, I can't say enough about the crew (Dave Brown, Hunter Elliott, Frank Trice and Cliff Foster). This was a super event. It was a great event for our athletes and our alumni." "It was really great to see such support for wrestling," added Britt. VMI will return to action on Friday and Sunday in the Virginia Duals at the Hampton Coliseum in Hampton, Va.
