NWCA to host Dan Gable wrestling clinic in Oradell, N.J., on Sunday, January 5

The National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA), the professional organization for America's wrestling coaches, will host a special wrestling clinic featuring wrestling legend Dan Gable in Oradell, N.J., on Sunday, January 5. Gable was a 1972 Olympic gold medalist in freestyle wrestling and a 1971 World Champion. He won two NCAA titles for Iowa State Univ., and had one of the greatest careers in U.S. high school and college wrestling. He went on to be the most successful coach in American history, setting records as the head coach for the Univ. of Iowa Hawkeyes. Gable has also helped build the United States into a World power in freestyle wrestling, coaching three U.S. Olympic teams (1980, 1984, 2000). Proceeds from the clinic will support the many programs of the National Wrestling Coaches Association. Working with the College Sports Council, the NWCA has initiated a lawsuit against the U.S. Department of Education seeking Title IX reform.
