Neither wrestler was able to score a takedown in the second period despite some exciting flurries of offense. With 10 seconds left in the match, Lee scoerd an escape to tie the match at 1-1. 20 seconds into the overtime session, Lee got deep on a double-leg and finished for the win. 133 Foley Dowd (Michigan) dec. Mike Simpson (Ariz. St.), 4-3 Simpson was able to get deep on a shot attempt with one minute left in the second period and finished for a 2-0 lead. Dowd tied the match at 2-2 with escapes in the first and second periods. In the third period, Simpson took the lead back with an escape, but with one minute remaining, Dowd finished a single-leg and rode Simpson out for the rest of the match to win. Zach Roberson (Iowa St.) dec. Matt Azevedo (Sunkist Kids), 9-3 Roberson scored on a single-leg midway through the first period and rode Azevedo out for the remainder of the first period. In the second, Roberson extended his lead to 3-0 with an escape. Azevedo shot through Roberson, and after a scramble, came out behind Roberson to cut the lead to 3-2. Michigan), 5-3 After a scoreless first period, Phillips chose bottom in the second and quickly scored an escape, but Holland fired back with a double-leg takedown to win. Jeff Ratliff (Ohio St.), 7-1 Long was able to counter Ratliff's shot attempt and get behind Ratliff for a 2-0 lead. In the second, Letters got on the scoreboard with an escape, but Lackey finished another takedown to extend his lead to 4-1. Williams scored two more takedowns in the second period for an 8-3 advantage, but with one minute remaining in the match, went down with an injury.
