TheMat.com announces the release of the first-ever NCAA Division I Coaches Poll. One coach from each conference has been polled to find out who they feel are the top wrestlers in the country. Each position in the coaches rankings are awarded a point value.    To view these rankings, visit www.TheMat.com and select "NCAA Division I" from the drop-down "Rankings" menu at the top of the screen.    All wrestlers receiving votes will be shown. This ranking system will help to weed out any bias that could be used in rankings. TheMat.com Division I Coaches Individual Poll will automatically serve as the most official rankings used at the Division I level.    TheMat.com Division I Coaches Individual Poll will only rank 15 wrestlers at each weight class. This is done because only 12 wrestlers are seeded at the NCAA Division I Championships.    The December 18 rankings are the first date of this poll, but beginning January 9, 2003, TheMat.com Division I Coaches Individual Poll will be released every two weeks leading up to the end of the season.
