Mr. Feldmeier has been involved in wrestling for over 65 years. During that time he has given unselfishly of himself time and time again to help the sport of wrestling grow. He grew up in Littlefalls New York where he won a State Championship. He went onto compete in college at Princeton University. Prior to graduating Mr. Feldmeier was called into service for his country, becoming an officer in the U.S. Marine Corps. After marrying his wife of 50 years, Bob started his own company manufacturing milk pasteurizes. Over the years the business has grown into a multi state operation with facilities in Syracuse, New York Little Falls, New York, Montgomery, Alabama, Cedar Falls, Iowa and Fernley, Nevada. All the plants build equipment that Bob has patented during his career. Bob Feldmeier never forgot his wrestling roots and how this sport helped him grow into a confident young man. Over the years he has personally assisted many young wrestlers pursuit of their wrestling dreams. Bob sponsored the 1998 Olympian Jason Gleaseman, for the year leading up to the Olympic Trials. Also, many local members of the Mohawk Valley Wrestling Club have been assisted when traveling abroad. As collegiate wrestling programs began disappearing because of the unjust application of Title IX, Bob gave a lot of time and money to successfully save the Princeton Wrestling Program. However, two years later, he lost his battle to keep Syracuse University's wrestling program alive. During this period Bob donated a new wrestling mat to St. James High School in Montgomery Alabama to help promote wrestling in the Deep South. Recently, Bob provided the seed money for the National Wrestling Coaches Association to sue the Federal Government to change Title IX Even today, Bob is actively promoting wrestling through his new company Live Sports Video. LSV was the first Internet service that broadcasts live amateur wrestling events on the Internet. Besides doing pay for view college dual meets, Bob webcast the National Duals and the Collegiate All Star match free of charge. Robert Feldmeier is a true fan and supporter of the sport of wrestling and the Brute Group and the Reno Tournament of Champions are very proud to have someone like Robert Feldmeier in our ranks. If it were not for him this event would not exist. Mr. Feldmeier gave the Reno Tournament of Champions it's first cash donation to help get this dream started. His insight was once again proven correct as we start our eighth year with this event. Robert Feldmeier is a perfect example of what the Heritage award stands for and we are very proud to have him as our honoree.
