Anyone in the general public can now print off a copy of the official transcript from the fourth meeting of the Commission on Opportunities in Athletics, which was held in San Diego, Calif., November 20-21, as well as the fifth meeting in Philadelphia, Pa., Dec. 3-4.     This federal commission is reviewing Title IX, and held four Town Hall meetings that included public comment.     The transcripts are posted as PDF files and Word format files on the webpage of the Commission on Opportunities in Athletics. Also available for review are the transcripts for the first three hearings, held in Atlanta, Ga. (August 27-28), Chicago Ill. (September 17-18) and Colorado Springs, Colo. (October 22-23).    The Commission is now in the final process of developing its report, to submit to the Department of Education in late January. The first meeting in this process was held in Philadelphia, Pa., Dec. 3-4. The final public meeting of the Commission will be held in Washington, D.C. on Janaury 8. Although the public can not participate in the discussion, it is an open meeting and all interested in the issue should make plans to attend. The general public may observe this meeting; however there will not be opportunity for public comment.
