CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - The Chattanooga wrestling team will hold its annual Blue-Gold Intrasquad wrestling match Saturday, giving Mocs fans a sneak peak at the 2002 defending Southern Conference Champions. First-year head coach Terry Brands is excited about the opportunity to showcase his team to the wrestling supporters of the community. "We have some strong competition at many of our positions, and this is their first chance to compete in front of an audience other than ourselves," Brands said. "We have some talented individuals who are eager to get the season started. We don't have many days left before we head to Oklahoma State, and Saturday will go a ways toward getting us ready for that big opener." The Mocs will have a match at each weight class, and the event will begin at 5 p.m. on the main arena floor. This year's edition includes five national qualifiers from last year's squad, Matt Pitts, Jared Sullivan, Craig Johnson, Quantel Langford and Austin David. Several newcomers are also expected to make an impact this season including Adam Rains of Cleveland, Tenn., and Jake Yost of Soddy Daisy. Admission is free and the event is open to the public.
