Former NCAA Champion Lesnar To Appear At Kurt Angle Classic

New Orleans, La. - Current WWE Champion and former NCAA Champion at the Univ. of Minnesota Brock Lesnar will be attending the Show of Strength/Kurt Angle Classic on Friday, November 8 and Saturday, November 9. Lesnar will appear at the "Kurt Angle/Physical Magazine" booth for a meet and greet autograph signing.    Lesnar was raised on a dairy farm in Webster, South Dakota, and began wrestling at the age of five. He continued to wrestle in school, and also played football.    After high school, Lesnar attended junior college in Bismarck, North Dakota, and in 1998 won the Junior College National Championship. In 1999, he enrolled at the Univ. of Minnesota, and won the 285 lb. NCAA Championship in 2000. He was an NCAA runner-up in 1999 at 285 lbs.    Lesnar soon joined a World Wrestling Entertainment developmental territory in Louisville, Kentucky, and upon  appearing on WWE programs was named "The Next Big Thing". Brock is thus far undefeated in World Wrestling Entertainment, and became the youngest WWE Champion in history this past August at SummerSlam.    The Kurt Angle Classic features a "USA vs. The World" format, and will spotlight Olympic and World Champion athletes in the three Olympic styles of wrestling: men's freestyle, men's Greco-Roman and women's freestyle.    All wrestlers will be paid to compete, with bonuses available to the winners. In all, the total purse for the event will exceed $75,000.
