MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. - The Central Michigan University wrestling team announced this week the hiring of a new graduate assistant, Pat McNamara. McNamara fills the position after Mike Greenfield left the program. Pat was the volunteer assistant coach last season. "I am happy and excited to have Pat join our coaching staff," said head coach Tom Borrelli. "During my time here at CMU, one of the reasons I think we have been so successful is that I have had a great coaching staff around me, and with Pat on the staff along with assistant coach, Casey Cunningham, I think this is my best staff yet. "Pat is a technical wrestler and he does a great job teaching that knowledge to our wrestlers. I feel lucky to have Pat coaching along side me." A native of Jordan, Minn., McNamara came to CMU last season after wrestling for Michigan State University for four seasons. During his time at MSU, he won one Big Ten Conference title and was a three-time All-American. He completed his kinesiology degree in the spring of 2001, and is presently working towards his master's in sport administration. Rounding out the CMU coaching staff will be former athlete Tony Gansen moving into the volunteer coaching position.
