Rangraz loss unbelievable: Khadem Moscow, Sept 22, IRNA -- The president of Iran's Wrestling Federation (IWF) said Hassan Rangraz loss in the world Greco-Roman semifinals was an unbelievable event. Talking to IRNA after Rangraz took the bronze medal of 55 kg of the 47th World Greco-Roman Wrestling Championships in Moscow, Amir-Reza Khadem added such a case is unavoidable in wrestling. Rangraz proved strong, said the IWF chief, adding that he has the final say in the 55-kg class of the world. The winner is not necessarily the best as the champion is not always superior to his opponents, said the former world champion. Although Rangraz won the bronze medal, he showed that he was the one who deserved to take the gold, regretted Khadem. In the 55-kg semifinals, the Russian wrestler Geidar Mamedaliyev fought back in the last seconds to beat Ashot Khachaturyan from Armenia while Rangraz in his bout against the Armenian for the third title was ahead 10-0 after less than 5 minutes, added the official. "To me and all experts attending the Moscow-based world event, the unexpected failure of Rangraz never overshadows his skills and his bronze is as precious as gold for the country," said the Wrestling Federation supremo. Rangraz, who was ahead 11-0, was stunned when his Turkmen opponent, Nepes Gukulov, won the semifinal bout with the technical fall.
