MEMORANDUM August 28, 2002 TO: NCAA Wrestling Coaches and Referees. FROM: Curt Blake, Chair, NCAA Wrestling Rules Committee. SUBJECT: 2002 Wrestling Rules Clinic Schedule. As a reminder, the NCAA Wrestling Rules Committee will hold a video rules clinic on Sunday, September 22, 2002 at Noon Eastern time (11 a.m. Central, 10 a.m. Mountain, 9 a.m. Pacific). Included with this memo is an updated list of clinic sites. This year, each clinic site will show the NCAA Wrestling Rules Videotape promptly at the time listed above. Following the video, members of the NCAA Wrestling Committee will be available via a toll-free number to answer questions that may come up while watching the video. For those unable to attend one of the clinic sites, you may also certify by viewing the clinic on the Internet at www.ncaasports.com. Please go to this address before the clinic date and be sure your computer is able to view the event. The Internet broadcast will be available until October 22. As in previous years, referees who wish to be eligible to officiate at any of the NCAA Championships or NCAA-sponsored regional qualifiers must attend a clinic. Beginning with the 2003-04 season, all referees who wish to officiate any collegiate meets or tournaments will be required to view the video presentation and register with the NCAA. It is also important to remind each Division I, II and III institution that a coaching staff representative is required to attend or view a clinic. Additionally, this video must be shown to all wrestling student-athletes at each institution. The most up-to-date information regarding the clinic will be available at www.ncaasports.com.
