Penn State Hires Josh Koscheck as Administrative Assistant

State College, Pa., Aug. 13, 2002 - Penn State wrestling head coach   Troy Sunderland today announced the addition of four-time   All-American and NCAA Champion Josh Koscheck (Edinboro, Pa.) to the   Nittany Lion wrestling program. Koscheck, who graduated in May of   2001 from Edinboro University, will serve as an administrative   assistant for the Lion wrestling program, a position formerly held by   Todd Beckerman.    "We are really pleased to welcome another highly accomplished   collegiate wrestler to the program," Sunderland said. "Josh is a   proven winner, a hard worker and I feel his presence will greatly   benefit the young men in our program."    Koscheck was a four-year starter and a standout for Fighting   Scot teams that went 1-2 against Penn State during his career. He   went 42-0 in his junior campaign and claimed the 2001 NCAA   Championship at 174 pounds. He returned in his senior year to place   third in the NCAA Championships and become Edinboro's first four-time   All-American. He was a two-time Eastern Wrestling League Champion,   earned EWL Wrestler of the Year honors in 2000 & 2001, and was three   times named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Wrestler of   the Year (2000-02) while on his way to becoming just the 11th   wrestler in history to win four PSAC championships.    Koscheck also excelled in the classroom as he was a four-time   academic achievement award winner while earning his bachelor's degree   in criminal justice. He also earned a Board of Governors Grant and   served on the University Senate. He currently is continuing work on a   master's degree in secondary counseling during which he has earned a   3.83 grade point average.
