84 lbs.  Patrick McCaffrey (Pennsylvania) dec. Cory Fish (Washington), 6-4  1st period  A three point fireman's carry for McCaffrey with 1:48 left in the period gave him a 3-0 lead. Fish was unable to finish a single-leg attach midway in the period. McCaffrey hit another three-point fireman's dump with eight seconds left for a 6-0 lead at break.    2nd period  Fish hit a three-point double leg takedown with 1:49 left to cut the lead to 6-3. Fish added a one-point low single with 54 seconds left to make it 6-4. He was unable to make a leglace work when on top. The match ended with McCaffrey in on a single leg, with a 6-4 win    91 lbs.  Gabe Burak (Colorado) dec. Franklin Gomez (Puerto Rico), 9-0  1st period  Burak scored first on a double leg takedown with 1:37 left for a 1-0 lead, then turned Gomez with an ankle lace for a hand-to-hand one pointer, and a 2-0 lead. Burak spun behind for a one-point takedown at 40 seconds left and a 3-0 margin.    2nd period  Burak hit a double leg takedown, then ran Gomez over with a half nelson, for a two-point takedown and a 5-0 lead. Gomez attempted a number of upperbody hip toss, unsuccesfully. Burak added another two pointer from the feet for a 7-0 lead. With about 15 seconds to go, Burak had the legs and in scored a two-point exposure for the final 9-0 win    98 lbs.  Mike Grey (New Jersey) dec. Nick Gallick (Arizona), 4-2  1st period  Grey started it off with a double leg followed by exposure for two points with 1:45 left for a 2-0 lead. During a scramble, Gallick scored a two-point counter exposure, then Grey came out on top for the takedown, with 37 seconds left. Grey leads 3-2 at break.    2nd period  Grey went for a double, switched to a single, then came out of the scramble with the takedown and a 4-2 lead with just 45 seconds left. The match ended with Grey in on the legs and Gallick attempting a tilt, but no points were scored.    105 lbs.  Jayson Ness (Minnesota)  dec. Matt Fisk (Pennsylvania), 8-6  1st period  Fisk hit a hip toss from the side for a three-pointer, and received an extra exposure point for a 4-0 lead with 1:35 to go.     2nd period  Ness scored one point on a clean single leg takedown with 1:44 left, making the score 4-1. Ness added a two-point gutwrench with 1:24 left to close it to 4-3. Fisk stopped a crotchlift, then scored a two-point reversal for a 6-3 lead, but Ness came out on top for a reversal and 6-4 margin at 50 secoonds to go. With 32 seconds left, Ness tied it at 6-6 with a gutwrench turn. But with 20 seconds to go, Ness came out from the bottom, with the leg in, and scored a two-point reversal for the final 8-6 winning margin.     112 lbs.  Garrett Scott (Pennsylvania) dec. Michael Rowe (Maryland), 12-7  1st period  The match started with a back and forth scramble, Scott on the leg and Rowe countering, but no points came from it. Rowe took the lead at 1-0 on a takedown.Scott responded with a takedown, moving into a gutwrench turn, for a two-pointer with 43 seconds left. From top, Scott hit a two-point turn to extend the lead to 4-1.    2nd period  Scott kept up the heat with a takedown at 1:36 left for a 5-1 lead. After a two-point turn it was 7-1. Rowe scored a twopoint exposure on a scramble, then Scott came out on top, making it 8-3. Again in a counter position, Rowe scored a tilt, cutting it to 8-5 with 37 seconds left. Quickly, Scott scored a pair of two-point counter tilts, getting four points and leading 12-5. A two-point Rowe crotchlift by Rowe with three seconds left was not enough, as Scott wins 12-7.    119 lbs.  Cameron Doggett (Ohio) dec. Mitch Mueller (Iowa), 6-5, ot, 4:35  1st period  Doggett quickly spins behind for a takedown and 1-0 lead with 1:54 to go. Mueller used a single leg to take Doggett to his back for three points and a 3-1 lead with about one minute left. Doggett answered with a takedown with 45 to go and trailed 3-2. A Mueller single leg with 20 seconds left made it 4-2. Mueller added a one-point ankle lace with one second on the clock for a 5-2 lead.    2nd period  Doggett starts it off with a one-point takedown, trailing 5-3 just 10 seconds into the period. With 1:10 to go, Doggett gets another one-point leg attack takedown and a 5-4 margin. Mueller went in on a low single but did not score. Doggett tied it up at 5-5 with a takedown just 20 seconds out.    Overtime  Doggett stopped a Mueller spin behind, sunk his leg in backwards, kicked out and got the scramble takedown for the winning point, 6-5, just 35 seconds into the overtime.    125 lbs.  Dustin Schlatter (Ohio) won by tech. fall over Jeff Becker (Pennsylvania), 11-0, 1:27  1st period  Schlatter scored a quick single leg for a 1-0 lead, then picked up one point on an ankle lace for a 2-0 lead. He then tilted Becker for two and a 4-0 lead at 1:21 left. Schlatter opened it up, a two-point tilt and hold for a 7-0 lead with 1:05 to go. He then hit a two-point gutwrench for 9-0, then a two-point ankle lace for the winning 11-0 technical fall (with 33 seconds left in the period).    130 lbs.  Alex Herrera (California) dec. James Whittet (New York), 9-0  1st period  Herrera scored first with a leg attack at 1:50 left for a 1-0 lead. Herrera padded the lead with a three-point takedown to exposure with 55 seconds left and a 4-0 score. A one-point takedown with 11 seconds left gave Herrera the 5-0 lead at break.    2nd period  Herrera goes behind after a leg attack with 1:45 to go, making it 6-0. Another takedown with 1:15 left makes it 7-0. Two more single legs in the final minute gave Herrera the final 9-0 shutout.    135 lbs.  Mike Poeta (Illinois) dec. Brent Metcalf (Michigan), 6-3  1st period  Metcalf scored a spin behind takedwon with 42 left for a 1-0 lead. Metcalf tried a gutwrench, but Poeta blocked it and came out on top for a two-point reversal and a 2-1 lead. With just three seconds left, Poeta again exposed Metcalf on a counter during a scramble for two points and a 4-1 lead at break.    2nd period  Metcalf hit a creative two-point tilt on the edge with 41 seconds left to close the deficit to 4-3. Attempting another gutwrench, Metcalf was stopped again, and Poeta scored another two-point reversal 22 seconds left for the 6-3 win.    140 lbs.  Mitch Smith (West Virginia) dec. Levi Price (Minnesota), 4-0  1st period  Smith starts it off with a takedown with 1:22 left for a 1-0 lead. With just one second left, Smith quickly spins behind for another takedown and a 2-0 lead at break.    2nd period  Smith spins behind, sinking in the leg, for a takedown with 1:39 left and a 3-0 margin. Another spin behind with 33 seconds left stretches the Smith lead to 5-0.     145 lbs.  Brandon Mason (Iowa) dec. Rocky Cozart (Florida), 4-2  1st period  Mason scores first with a takedown with 1:30 to go and a 1-0 lead. Mason gets takedown on a double leg with 25 seconds left for the 2-0 lead. Repeated attempts to tilt Cozart fail and the period ends.    2nd period  Cozart gets an appreciation point on a double-overhook throw on the edge, to make it 4-1. Mason is hit for stalling with 32 seconds left, and Cozart chooses to go on top, but can't get a turn. Cozart does a desperation toss with eight seconds to go and gets a point. He is on top in par terre but can't score and Mason wins, 4-2.    152 lbs.  Nate Matousek (Minnesota) dec. Mike Galante (New Jersey), 8-4  1st period  Galante scores first, a two-point counter turn, for a 2-0 lead with 1:30 left. Matousek comes back with a three-point upper body toss with 55 seconds left, and holds Galante on his back for an additional point, for a 4-1 lead. A one-point ankle lace follows with 21 seconds left, then a two-point turn with five seconds on the clock, and Matousek has a 7-2 lead at break.    2nd period  Matousek gets another point when Galante is penalized for fleeing the mat, and leads 8-2 with 1:25 left. Galante knocks Matousek down hard, and jumps on top for a takedown with 30 seconds to go and an 8-3 lead.Galante gets one more takedown, with 15 seconds to go, but can't get any more points as time runs out.    160 lbs.
