84 lbs. Cory Fish (Washington) dec. Mike Thorn (Minnesota), 5-0 First period: Fish scores a quick takedown and two points on a gut wrench to take a 3-0 lead. Second Period: Late in the match, Fish scores a takedown off an arm-spin and uses an arm-bar tilt to score an exposure point. 91 lbs. Henry Cejudo (Arizona) dec. Tony Mustari (Colorado), 13-8 First Period: Mustari took Cejudo down and to his back, taking a quick 3-0 lead. He then used a gut wrench to lengthen his lead to 4-0 before Cejudo scored a reversal, cutting the lead to 4-1. Cejudo scored two points on a gut wrench to cut the lead to 4-3. With 30 seconds left in the period, Cejudo threw Mustari to his back with a front headlock, taking a 7-4 lead. Second Period: Mustari began the period by snapping Cejudo down, scoring a takedown and two exposure points to tie the match. Mustari then scored another point on a gut wrench to take the lead. Cejudo used a front headlock to put Mustari on his back again, taking an 11-8 lead. Cejudo padded his lead with 45 seconds left, scoring two more points on a gut wrench. 98 lbs. Nick Gallick (Arizona) dec. Joe Weygand (Pennsylvania), 8-6 First Period: Down 3-0, Weygand used a front headlock to score exposure points, cutting the lead to 3-2. Gallick scored another takedown and two exposure points to take a 6-2 lead heading into the second period. Second Period: Gallick threw Weygand to his back, scoring two more points for an 8-2 advantage. Late in the match, Weygand scored a takedown and used a gut wrench to cut the lead to 8-5. With 4 seconds left, Gallick was penalized for fleeing the mat. 105 lbs. Troy Nickerson (New York) won by tech. fall over Jose Mendez (Michigan), 10-0 First Period: Nickerson used a front headlock to score two exposure points before finishing a takedown to take a 3-0 lead. He then used a gut wrench to lengthen his lead to 5-0. Nickerson finished the match quickly, never being removed from par terre in posting the win. 112 lbs. Coleman Scott (Pennsylvania) dec. Jake Gonzales (Washington), 5-1 First Period: Scott scored a takedown midway through the first period. He then used a gut wrench to take a 3-0 lead. Second Period: Gonzalez scored a takedown to cut the lead to 3-1. Scott scored two exposure points from par terre to extend his lead to 5-1. 119 lbs. Jeff Schell (Pennsylvania) dec. Angel Esobedo (Indiana), 6-5 First Period: Escobedo was whistled for passivity midway through the first periopd. Schell used a roll to score two exposure points for the initial lead. While still on top, Schell then put Escobedo to his back to take a commanding 6-0 lead. Second Period: With 40 seconds remaining in the match, Escobedo used a front headlock throw to immediately cut the lead to 6-3. Escobedo then used a gut wrench to cut the lead to 6-5 with 13 seconds left. 125 lbs. Dustin Schlatter (Ohio) dec. Tim McGoldrick (Pennsylvania), 8-0 First Period: Schlatter took early control, scoring a takedown, then using a series of gut wrenches and trap-arms to take a 7-0 lead into the second period. Second Period: Schlatter extended his lead to 8-0 on a takedown. 130 lbs. Jason Johnstone (Ohio) dec. Shane Perkey (Indiana), 10-3 First Period: Johnstone scored a takedown and two points on two gut wrenches to take an early 4-1 lead. He extended his lead to 5-1 going into the second period after scoring an exposure point on a reverse lift. Second Period: Johnstone scored another takedown and two more points on a gut wrench to take an 8-1 lead. Johnstone was able to score two more exposure points before exposing himself to surrender two points. 135 lbs. Brent Metcalf (Michigan) won by tech. fall over Jimmy Matlock (Oklahoma), 10-0 First Period: Metcalf scored quickly off a takedown. He then used three gut wrenches to take a 6-0 lead with one minute remaining. With 30 seconds left in the period, Metcalf scored a takedown for a 7-0 lead. He then used a gut wrench to extend his lead to 9-0. Second Period: Metcalf finished the match with a takedown 35 seconds into the second period. 140 lbs. Danny Grater (Kansas) dec. Kyle Bounds (Washington), 4-1 First Period: Grater lifted Bounds and put him on his back one minute into the period for a 2-0 lead. He then scored two more points on a gut wrench, before Bounds cut the lead to 4-1 with a reversal. Second Period: No scoring. 145 lbs. Rocky Cozart (Florida) dec. Brandon Mason (Iowa), 6-5 First Period: After Mason was cautioned for passivity, Cozart used a lift for a five-point throw. Mason countered with a reversal to cut the lead to 5-1. Second Period: Mason scored a takedown to cut the lead to 6-2. With one minute remaining, Mason scored a takedown and two points on a gut wrench to cut the lead to 6-5 with 24 seconds left. 152 lbs. Nate Matousek (Minnesota) pin Shawn Brunson (Utah), 2:48 First Period: No scoring. Second Period: Matousek won the coin toss for the clinch. He locked up Brunson and threw him right to his back. After 48 seconds, Matousek earned the pin. 160 lbs. Andy Lowther (Ohio) dec. Kyle Griffin (California), 5-0 First Period: Lowther scored a takedown and three exposure points off of two gut wrenches. Second Period: Lowther scored a takedown. 171 lbs. Kurt Brenner (Pennsylvania) dec. Chris Hogue (Pennsylvania), 4-2 First Period: Hogue lifted Brenner and scored one exposure point for the early lead. Second Period: Hogue was whistled for passivity. Brenner used a gut wrench to score two exposure points. Hogue tied the match at 2-2 with a takedown. Overtime: Brenner scored immediately, taking Hogue to his back for two exposure points and the win. 189 lbs. Phil Bomberger (Pennsylvania) pin Brent Jones (Virginia), 0:17 First Period: Bomberger lifted Jones and put him to his back for the touch fall. 215 lbs. Jason Marshall (Ohio) won by tech. fall over Chris Kasten (Indiana), 10-0 First Period: Marshall started the match with a five-point throw and quickly disposed of Kasten from par terre. 275 lbs. Dallon Norton (Utah) dec. Bryan Whetstone (California), 6-3 First Period: Norton scored first, using a gut wrench for a 2-0 lead. Whetstone tied the match at 2-2 with a gut wrench of his own. Second Period: Norton took command with a gut wrench and two takedowns for a 6-3 lead.
