"There is absolutely no credence to the statement that any city's bid has moved ahead of others as the favorite to become the United States candidate city for 2012. We're not even there yet in terms of the process or because of any actions we have taken. There is no member of our task force who could make this statement with any degree of truth, whatsoever. All four bids are marvelous, and the daunting task for beginning to rank them against each other remains still ahead of us, period." Charles Moore, USOC 2012 Site Evaluation Task Force "The notion that we have already tabbed favorites is a complete work of fiction and imagination. This suggestion does not come from anyone within the United States Olympic Committee who is involved in our process. We have not even attempted to rank the cities against each other, and our work has centered only on the individual bids, a review of each, and dialogue with each city on strengthening its bid and challenges it may still face. The stakes are too high in this campaign for the United States Olympic Committee to be party to unattributed comments by anyone involved in this very complex process. We deny such a statement and stand behind our position that it is patently false." Mike Moran, USOC Spokesman
