VERBAL COMMITMENTS  Coleman, Scott (Brigham Young Univ.) - Iowa State - 285  Scott was a multiple state champion in Kansas when he was in high school. He completed his freshman season at BYU before their program was dropped. Coleman will have three years of eligibility and will begin competing in January.    Martinez, Dan (Cuesta JC) - Cal Poly - 184/197  Dan was a Junior National champion in 2000 and a JUCO runner-up in 1999. He is solid, but does not have much experience against Division I competition.    Martinez, Israel (North Idaho JC) - Iowa - 157  Israel is a top athlete who needed some time in Junior College to get things straightened out. Last year, he captured a Junior College title and his work ethic has improved dramatically. He is a huge addition for this Hawkeye lineup. He will most likely redshirt this season before transferring.    Parks, Willie (Iowa Central CC) - Iowa - 184/197  Willie was a JUCO champion last year at 184, but has the build to compete at 197 as well. He will most likely wrestle a couple of years at 184 and maybe end at 197. He will redshirt this upcoming season at Iowa Central and have three years of eligibility with Iowa. He should have a major impact at the Division I level.    Preston, Robbie (Blair Academy, NJ) - Harvard - 125  Robbie has applied for early decision at Harvard. If he gets in, he will go to Harvard, but if not, he has expressed interest in Lehigh and Northwestern. Robbie captured a Junior National crown this summer to solidify himself as one of the top 125-pounders coming out of high school. He plans to sign early.    Rees, Tyler (Northern HS, PA) - Rider - 285  Tyler was a state runner-up last year and is currently ranked third in AAA. He placed fourth at the Beast of the East. This commitment fills a void for Rider and Rees should be able to offer immediate help at this weight class.    Schlottke, Jacob (Arizona State) - Minnesota - 157/165  Jacob was a top recruit out of high school two years ago. He is returning home to Minnesota. He is great on his feet, but is not very experienced in mat wrestling. He is a high-profile recruit that can help this team next season.    TOP RECRUITS  Anderson, Lucas (Hanford, CA) - Chicago, Columbia, Stan., UC-Davis - 133/141  Lucas was a state placewinner in California last year. He is a solid light weight who could help any of these lineups.    Compton, Mike (Willard, OH) - E. Mich., Mercyhurst, Virg. - 125  Mike was a state champion at 103 last year and fifth in 2001. He has been an All-American in Fargo four times (3 Greco, 1 freestyle). 9 of his 13 career losses were at 90 lbs. as a freshman. He is still very small (wrestling at 112 this year), but will make a solid career 125-pounder.    Contreras, Alex (Westview, AZ) - Ariz. St. - 125  Alex has not heard from any other schools at this time. Although he plans to study criminal justice in college, he hasn't taken an ACT or SAT at this point. He will most likely sign late, but Arizona State coaches plan to schedule a home visit with him for later this month.    Dyer, Bryan (Naperville, IL) - Ind., N. Illinois - 133  Bryan will sign late. He has considered other schools to a small degree, but only set up visits with Indiana (Nov. 15-16) and Northern Illinois (Nov. 18-19). Bryan plans to study business or science in college. He would be a major addition to any of these programs. He will be a solid 133, most likely for his career.    Foreman, Ajay (Great Bridge, VA) - Army, NC St., UNC-Green., W.V. - 165  Ajay is a two-time Virginia state champion and a high school All-American. He is a solid middle weight. Ajay wants to major in the art field and may sign early.    Graham, Nathan (Parker, CO) - Nebraska, N. Colorado - 197/285  Nathan is a Colorado state runner-up with good size and quickness. He wrestled at 215 this year, and he will most likely be a heavyweight in college. With some development, he could be a good pickup for a Division I school.    Hayes, Anthony (Danbury, CT) - App. St., Bing., Sac. Heart, Vir. - 141  Anthony is a solid light weight. He works out in the off-season with new Sacred Heart coach Andy Seras, which may sway him that way.  He has visited Virginia and plans to visit Appalachian State soon. He has gone on unofficial visits to the others. He has solid credentials and would be a good pickup for any of these programs.    Lacroix, Andy (Salem, NH) - Bing., Sacred Heart - 125/133  Andy is a two-time Class L state champion and a three-time state finalist in New Hampshire. He is also a two-time New England champion and has a career record of 121-9. He is an exceptional athlete and a solid light weight. He is very underrated and could be a big pickup for either Binghamton or Sacred Heart.    Mendes, Chad (Hanford, CA) - Fresno St., UC-Davis - 125  Chad placed 8th at the Junior Nationals this past summer and is a two-time California state placewinner. He is visiting California-Davis this weekend but is leaning towards signing in the late signing period.    Miller, Grant (Rockton Hononegah, IL) - Cal Poly, C. Mich., Ill., Iowa St., Minn., Wis. - 275  Grant is considered by many as the top heavyweight prospect in the nation. He no longer has any plans of playing football in college. As it stands, he will sign late since he has not had time to scheduled any visits. He may sign early if he is given a great offer, though. Cal Poly and Central Michigan have become strong competitors for Grant's services in college. Grant would like to study business and communications in college, so he has not ruled any options out.    Nissen, Chris (Standley Lake, CO) - Air Force, Brown - 149  Chris is very open to his college plans right now, and does not plan to sign early. His main contacts have been from Air Force and Brown, but he has heard from other schools as well. Chris will be a solid middle weight for any lineup. He plans to study pre-med in college.    Peissig, Grant (Menomonie, WI) - Brown, Corn., Miss., Wis. - 197  Grant is a solid prospect, but some schools have left him alone because of his possible commitment to football. He has spoken with teams such as Air Force and Minnesota for football scholarships. He will definitely sign late, if he signs at all.    Sanders, Eric (Wabasha-Kellogg, MN) - Iowa St., Minn., N. Dak. St. - 125  Eric's stock dropped somewhat after not placing at the Junior Nationals this summer, but he is still considered one of the top 125 lbs. prospects in the nation. He has scheduled a visit for Minnesota on Nov. 1, but that is all right now. He plans to major in electrical engineering or computer science in college. Eric will sign early only if the offer is right.    Slack, Shanon Slack (Cerritos JC) - Mich. St., Lock Have, Ariz. St., CS Fuller., Cal Poly, Fresno St., Ill., Minn. - 133  Shannon was a California Junior College national champion this year and was named the tournament's Most Outstand Wrestler. He has wrestled at 133, 141 and 149 during this season, depending on where his team needed him. He is a true 133-pounder with a lot of talent. He could have a big impact on the Division I level. He was a high school All-American in Virginia.    Steffen, Casey (Flat Rock, MI) - E. Mich., Findlay, Mich. St., Ohio St. - 149/157  Casey is going to visit Ohio State this weekend and Michigan State in a couple of weeks. He would like to go to a Division I school with a good education   department. Casey was a state champion last year and has placed third at the state tournament twice.
