WASHINGTON, D.C.- American University's athletics department has announced the hiring of two-time All-American wrestler Shawn Enright (Lebanon. At Ohio, Enright was a three-time Mid-American conference champion and qualified for the NCAA Tournament four times in the 142-pound weight class. In his NCAA tournament appearances for the Bobcats, Enright finished second and fourth and was named an All-American twice. Enright has enjoyed success on the mat throughout his wrestling career. He is currently ranked in the top-10 on the American Olympic wrestling ladder. During his high school career he placed in the top three at the state level three times, was a high school national champion and a Junior National All-American. America, with new head coach Rob Puzio, will be counting on Enright to bring his extensive international and collegiate experience to a squad that returns Mark Hoffer (Jr., 149, Lancaster, PA/Manheim Central), who was an NCAA tournament quarterfinalist and 2000 CAA Champion and most outstanding wrestler Denis Alampiev (Sr. 165, Niznevartovsk, Russia/Waynesboror, PA), who also qualified for the NCAA tournament last season.
