The National Wrestling Hall of Fame and Museum, located in Stillwater, Okla. has expanded and improved its internet web page, with a launch of new features and design, as part of its annual Honor Weekend. Included in the improvements to the page is a new Champions database, which allows fans to sort historical information about champions from America's past and present. The web page is located at www.wrestlinghalloffame.org The National Wrestling Hall of Fame is a member of the Amateur Wrestling Alliance (AWA), and its web page can be accessed through a direct link from the homepage of TheMat.com, the official web page of the AWA. The searchable database tracks champions from many of the top events in the sport, including the Olympic Games, NCAA Championships and major USA Wrestling national championship events. The information can be sorted by athlete, by year and by team. In total, the "Web of Champions" includes 344 coaches, 4,563 athletes, 541 teams and 452 events, and will be expanded in the future. The web page improvements have included an interactive calendar, with information on Hall of Fame activities, as well as new-look design that makes the page more attractive and easier to navigate. This weekend's Honors Weekend will include the induction of three new Distinguished Members, Olympic greats Bruce Baumgartner, Kendall Cross and Jim Scherr. In addition, the Hall of Fame will honor its Outstanding Americans, Medal of Courage, Order of Merit, Outstanding Officials and Dave Schultz High School Excellence Award winners. In addition to the Hall of Fame activities, the National Wrestling Coaches Association is holding the annual AWA National Convention in Stillwater this weekend. Many of the activities for the Convention are being done in conjunction with the Hall of Fame activities. One of the these joint efforts was Thursday night's pig roast at Tumbleweeds, which included an amazing hypnotist demonstration featuring attendees from the Hall of Fame and NWCA programs.
