Veteran wrestling journalist Eddie Goldman has announced that he will be involved with a new version of his popular "No Holds Barred" show on The Fighting Channel on MeTV.com. Goldman moderated an internet radio show called "No Holds Barred" on eYada.com, whch went out of business last July. The program featured combat sports interviews and features, including wrestling. The new "No Holds Barred" will debut in June on a new service provided by MeTV.com, which uses a broadband connection to deliver video via your computer. "This new 'No Holds Barred' will continue my quest to provide the highest level of sports journalism focusing on the combat sports," said Goldman. "But it will differ from the old eYada.com show in two major respects. First, it will be, for lack of a better phrase, on Internet TV, making it a video show. Second, it will focus on the combat sports, but with a different order of priorities." "First will be boxing, the most popular combat sport. Boxing will get no less than the majority of the show's attention," said Goldman. "Second will be the world's oldest sport, wrestling, which has been growing in popularity of late. Third will be the martial arts, including mixed martial arts. In this way we can speak to what the audience is most interested in." Since the demise of eYada, Goldman has broadcast a "No Holds Barred News" segment on WBAI radio's "Lightshow, which airs weekly late Friday night/early Saturday morning, 3-5 AM Eastern Time. WBAI broadcasts in New York on 99.5 FM. For those not in the New York area, WBAI can also be heard live on the Internet. According to Goldman, the first edition of the new "No Holds Barred" will run on The Fighting Channel in June, and remain on there for about a month, as a sort of pilot. Goldman says that the frequency of the show will increase to once every two weeks in the summer, then to weekly in the fall. It is Goldman's goal to someday provide the show daily, and done live. Goldman will announce more information about the show, as well as about The Fighting Channel and MeTV.com very soon.
