Copper Clinics scheduled for Vegas---All Coaches Must be Certified!

Wednesday, April 24 Jr. Copper Certification Clinic 9:00 am 12:00 noon Thursday, April 25 Jr. Copper Certification Clinic 9:00 am 12:00 noon USA Wrestling will host two Copper Certification Clinics prior to the start of the Junior Division tournaments in Greco-Roman and Freestyle wrestling. All coaches, assistants, and athletic trainers must have at least Copper Certification to have a floor pass during the Junior Western Regional and the U.S. Senior Nationals Championships. People needing to access the floor during the Regional or National Championships also must have a current USA Wrestling Coach's Membership Card. Membership cards will not be sold in Las Vegas. If you or a member of your staff needs to renew or purchase their membership card in USA Wrestling, they are encouraged to contact their state chairperson or membership director. For further information regarding membership, contact Shonna Vest, at (719) 598-8181. The Copper Clinics scheduled in Las Vegas will not overlap tournament wrestling. Coaches that complete the Copper course in Las Vegas will be able to coach their athletes during the tournament. The cost of the Copper Clinic is $25. Coaches who attend this year's Copper Clinics will be among the first coaches nationally to participate in the newly revised clinic. The new Copper Clinic for the National Coaches Education Program is entirely sport specific. Coaches will receive the new Coaching Youth Wrestling book and view the new wrestling specific video. Upon completion of the course coaches will receive the NCEP Copper Card and Certificate. All coaches, trainers, and assistants must have a USAW Membership for the 2002 season and be at least Copper Certified to receive a floor pass at the U.S. Nationals in Las Vegas.
