Grand Valley State leads going into second day of NCWA National Championships

The 5th Annual NCWA National Championships moves into the second day with  Grand Valley State beginning to pull way from the field with 123.5 points.  They followed by Apprentice School with 88 points and U of Nevada Reno with  85 points.  Grand Valley had 10 athletes make it to the semifinals which will  begin at 11:30AM today.  Apprentice School and University of Nevada Reno each  had four athletes make it to the semifinals but will be hard pressed to  overtake Grand Valley.  The University of Southern Colorado also had four  wrestlers make the semifinals but do not have the depth to move up on the  other teams.    Outstanding performances have been turned in to-date by the Gervais brothers,  Eric 125lbs. and Vince 133lbs. of Grand Valley, Anthony Perez of Western  Texas A&M 149lbs., Vail Minn 157 lbs. and Jason Tapia 174lbs. out of the  University of Southern Colorado, and Aaron Tutwiler 285lbs of Auburn.    Today's action will include three rounds of consolation in addition to the  semifinals and finals.  The consolation round should prove to be important  for those teams vying for second and third place in the team race.
