Ben Heizer, Northern Illinois (184lb., So., Arlington, Tex.) placed eighth at the elite Midlands Wrestling Championships, by winning four of seven matches in one of the tournaments top-rated classes. Four returning All-Americans were in that division, but the sophomore reached the quaterfinal round of the championship bracket before losing to eventual champion Viktor Sveda of Indiana. Heizer rebounded from that loss and also upset the ninth seed (Oregon State's Isaac Weber) in the process. He raised his record to 12-4 on the season after posting a 6-3 rate before opting for a redshirt season last year.    Other Nominees  Zac Pyles, Eastern Michigan (133lb., So., Davison, Mich.) tied for 41st place at the Midlands Open. Pyles went 3-2 at the open.
